Good morning everyone I hope you doing fine and wishes for a good week.

Is there any excell function of a cell that gives the content of the previous one ?

Like wr doing copy paste again and again in each subsequent cell ?

Not Cell A2 =Cell A1

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Welcome to the MrExcel board!

I must not be understanding what you have or what you are trying to do because I can't see how a formula could be any simpler than =A1

Perhaps you could give us a small set of sample data (with XL2BB) like you have in your worksheet and explain in relation to that sample data just what you are trying to do?
(If you have trouble with XL2BB, review the "XL2BB Icons greyed out" link in the 'Known XL2BB issues' section near the top of the XL2BB Instructions page linked above.)

I am also wondering why you have "Prefer not to say" as your Office version? Different versions have different functions and features available so it makes it difficult for people to help you fully if they do not know what functions/features you have. I didn't think there is anything too personal or sensitive about a software version.

Hmm, yes, re-reading is it that you don't want a formula but to actually copy/paste values?
If it is, still the sample data and explanation in relation to that might help as any possible solution may depend on that actual type of data and its layout.

What I want in essence is for the next cell to give me the contents of the previous one, whatever it may be, but not with the equals but with copying the contents and separate processing of your unique one without depending on any other cell or function.

So you want EY11 to contain the same thing as EX11. Then what is the problem with Copy/Paste into EY11?
.. or if you want "XXX" across a number of columns like you have shown, copy EX11, select EY11:FC11 (or whatever the range you want is) and then Paste?

Another option if you want the values across a number of columns
Use the =EX11 formula in EY11 and drag across
Then will all those formula cells still selected do a Copy then Paste Special (Values)

Then what is the problem with Copy/Paste into EY11?

The problem is that the pasted must be XXX and not =EX11 when I click on.

All must be in text form not in function form.

If EX11 is not a formula and contains "XXX" which is what your picture shows and you copy that "XXX" and paste it into EY11 then EY11 will contain "XXX" not a formula.
