Good day all,

Hopefully this is easier for a human to understand than asearch engine...most of my searches were telling me how to past 2 copied cellsinto a single cell, which is the exact opposite of what I want.

I just had my PC reimaged. Before the reimage, I recorded thousands oforders using the following steps. Iwould have my RECORD workbook open to record the new orders, then open a new ORDERworkbook, copy two cells using CTRL+C to copy the filename and e-mail address, andthen hit ALT+F+C to close the ORDER workbook. This would leave the RECORDS workbook as the next active window and I'dhit CTRL+V to paste the information from the clipboard into two separate cells.

Since the reimage of my hard drive, when I use CTRL+C tocopy the same two cells, use ALT+F+C to close the ORDER workbook, then useCTRL+V to paste into the RECORD workbook, the two copied cells are pasting intoa single cell on my RECORDS workbook. Ineed this to paste into two separate cells as it used to.

If I leave the ORDER workbook open, I can paste the twocells of information into two separate cells, but that creates a lot of excessALT+TAB actions that wastes a lot of time. In the past I once I copied the filename and email address I could closethe workbook and just paste in the RECRODS workbook. I don't know what has changed. Does anybody have any idea of a setting thatwould correct this?

Thank you in advance - Troy

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Havent read this lengthy description of your problem but my first thought is the cells you are pasting to are merged.

No, I just double checked. The file name is in cell DT1, and the e-mail is in cell DU1.

Short version: I copy the DT1 and DU1 cells from spreadsheet A, and paste into spreadsheet B using CTRL+C & V, cells DT1 and DU1 are pasting their information into a single cell, as if I had done something like =DT1&DU1.
