Copy latest Date to another Cell

How can I copy the latest (newest) DATE to another cell? For example I have Cells D6 to D36, some of these cells have DATES some are blank. What I would like to do is copy the latest (newest) DATE to cell D39.

thanks that worked, now one more twist to this, not sure it can be done though. I would like the same thing but across multiple columns. For example D6 to D36, H6 to H36, L6 to L36 etc
