Copy and Paste Values skipping columns

Excel Gurus,

I want to copy values from A1 A2 A3 .... to B1 B3 B5 ....

Is there an easy way that I can Ctrl+C A1 and then select the cells B3, B5 etc and paste to get the value of adjacent values of A1, A2, A3 ...

Put this in B1 and drag down

=IF(ISODD(ROW()),INDIRECT("A"&ROUNDUP(ROW()/2,0)),"")

What if the values are in a row? and I need a similar operation
