copy and paste formulas from another spreadsheet

trying to do this without the pasted formulas referencing the source workbook where the formulas were copied from

i know after I paste the formulas, i could do a find and replace with blanks to get rid of it, but was just curious if there was a direct, one-step way
 
One way to do this would be to Select the range of Cells you want to copy, and replace the "=" with a random unique word. IE Replace = with the word EXCEL. Then copy the range, so to your new workbook and paste as usual and replace the word EXCEL with =. Go back to your original workbook and repeat that step there too.
