Smart People,

This may be the dumbest question ever but, how do I lock a cell so someone can not edit the data or formula but still allow them to copy and paste the cells? I can easily lock a cell but then you can't copy it. People need to be able to paste it into a powerpoint slide.

Thanks!!!

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
I don't have power point at home - but am able to copy and paste a locked cell into word (and other un-locked cells in Excel) without any problems.

dxz156,

If when you Protect the sheet you have the topmost option 'Select Locked Cells' ticked then the cell will be protected but you will be able to select it and copy /paste it elsewhere.

Hope that helps.
