Converting Word Data Into A Table

I used the Conversion process in Word to convert a long lyrical poem into a table so that I don't waste paper (2 columns per page). What I got was the lines divided in a non-user friendly way - line one in column 1, line two in column 2, line 3 in column on, and so on.

If I were to make my own table, I am faced then with either having the 10 page poem split in half, and forcing my students to read through 5 pages, just to go back to the first page to start reading the second half, or having to make 5 separate tables. Is there an easier way to accomplish my goal?

Hi

An easier solution without having to use excel would be to set your cursor at the start of your word document and then format your page so that it is in 2 columns.
Just go to Format, Columns..., and select 2 with or without a line.
You may wish to alter the margins to make it easier to read.
