I am trying to convert standard time to military time in excel 2007 and have 2 different formats one is displayed as HH:MM:SS and the other is displayed as HH:MM. I have used the formula =TEXT(G2,"HHMM") for each of the data sets and for the column formatted HH:MM:SS it is converting appropriately but for the other column formatted HH:MM it wont convert, any thoughts on why or another approach to use?

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
If 13:30 then use formatting under NumberTime

If 1330 there is no default Excel format for this.

Custom format to hmm;@

Note: the time will still be AM or PM in the formula bar.
