converting non excel recognized formatted numbers to dates

I use Sequel to extract data from Macola, our company data base/platform. The dates are formatted: 20070501 (May 1, 2007). The extracted fromat is not recognized in Excel as a date. Is there anyway to convert the number to a recognized date?

Welcome to the board.

Try selecting the column, going to data --> text to columns, clicking "next" twice, selecting date (YMD), and clicking Finish.
