Hi,

How would I convert hours to minutes, and minutes to units (15 min units) in excel.

For example:

Hours.
8

Minutes.
480

Total Units
32

How do I create a formula for this?

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
I'm not sure I understand your problem because on the face of it, it seems so simple.

Minutes = Hours * 60
Units = Hours *4
or
Units = Minutes / 15

Wouldn't that suffice for an excel formula?

What I'm trying to ask is how do I create a formula that will automatically breakdown entered hours into minutes and units?

If you enter the value for hours is in cell A1 and you want to put the value for minutes in cell A2, then the formula in cell A2 would be

=A1*60

If the value for hours in in cell A1 and you want to put the value for 15-minute units in cell A3, then the formula in cell A3 would be

=A1*4
