Convert text numbers to numbers

Can't convert these text numbers to numbers. Tried all possible methods, no luck

8.75
17.51
23.96
30.55
34.99
10.94
8.75
10.94
39.29

Numbers copied from a SODA PDF excel conversion spreadsheet of a Bank Statement PDF download.
 

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

Just let us know what you did

Copy/paste multiply, add 0, etc
=Value()
DATA, Text to Cols
=Substitution()
to Word then to Excel

and a few other I can't bring to mind
I've played around with the problem for a few hours. I'm not a real experienced Excel man, too

I am using xl2013, do you have the function 'numbervalue' available to you? That seemed to work for me.

Select your column.
Click on Data, then Text to Columns
Click Finish

Try this,

in one blank cell, type 1 and press enter. Highlight this cell press control+c
Highlight cells that you want to change to numbers, right click and choose paste special option. In the operation part of the paste special choose Multiply
