Guys,

I'm at a loss. I am using the convert formula successfully in an excel doc. However, 3/16 or 5/16 won't convert. I get some large number. Is there a way around this or do i just need to forget convert and just multiply by 28.35? Thanks all!

Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
I don't know exactly what you mean, but check the Precision as displayed option in Excel.

Click File > Options. Click Advanced, and then under When calculating this workbook, select the Set precision as displayed check box, and then click OK

Here's an example... the formula =CONVERT(AP1082,"ozm","g") changes the 1/8 to 3.5. But 3/16 is 1,286,132.8...

ooooh... i see what the issue is... to show 3/16 the cell is '3/16 because EXCEL won't show 3/16 as a fraction by itself... at least I don't know how. It converts it to 1/5?!?! And that's what's messing with this.
