If you want the worksheet to be pasted as a worksheet object in Word, you can remove the formulae (by copy then Edit|Paste Special|Values) before you copy it from Excel; otherwise, you'd have to open it after pasting into Word and going through the same process there.
If you're not fussed about the pasted material being in the Excel worksheet format, look under Edit|Paste Special in Word after doing the copy - you'll see a variety of other paste formats, none of which retain the Excel formulae.
