Hi,

I have the following formula in a column, which I have just added as a normal Excel column, at the end of my Power Query-generated table:

=HYPERLINK("https://"&VLOOKUP([@countrycode],Table_Countries___Details[#All],3)&"/"&[@eventname])

This works OK, but I would rather add a custom column to my Power Query-generated table. I am just wondering if anyone might be able to help with this, please? I have tried a number of things, but doing xlookups / vlookups in Power Query is a bit beyond my current skills. I have attached a link to the file, below.

OneDrive link: parkrun - parkrun Reader WORKING.xlsx

Thanks in advance!

Olly.

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
This post hasn't received any replies, so am closing it. In the end I just did a manually inserted column and did the VLOOKUP in there instead. Thanks.

this is probably the wrong forum in which to ask a Powerquery related issue. I hadn't seen the issue before, but from what I know of Powerquery the strategy would be to create a table based on 'Table_Countries__Details' and then do a merge using the @Countrycode field. It should be pretty straightforward.

Yes, probably got skipped over by most because Power Query questions normally reside in the Power Tools forum.

@ollyhughes1982 if still interested in the Power Query route then I would suggest reposting the question there, worth a go

As a general method have a look at the link below

No need to re-post it, I have moved this question to that forum.

Said about reposting as the file doesn't exist in the link now, so thought it was better after 8 days to start afresh for clarity but if you think it is clear enough still then I'm fine with that of course.

Ah, I missed it was an old post!
Looks like the found a workaround anyway, but maybe someone else will have something to offer.
