Hi I have tried to look up the thread but the solution =IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("CR",Cell_Format)),a2*-1,"") doesn't work.

Cheers

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
What is Cell_Format? If it is a cell range then you need to enter the formula as an array formula.

Try this array formula:
=IF(OR(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("CR",Cell_Format))),a2*-1,"")

I think you might get an working solution if you show us some examples of your actual data, tell us how the cells they are in are formatted (in other words, for any given cell, what is in the Formula Bar and what is in the cell itself in addition to the Custom Format you are using assuming your are using one) and show us the results you want.
