Good day all!

i am a cable installer and when I process my work per job I enter in a code which them represents my pay. I also get paid at a percentage so need to be able to adjust the total pay based on my percentage.

i HAD a functioning worksheet that did all of this but my laptop was destroyed and have no external backup of my previous version that worked great!

I had had a main page with a worksheet that represented all the $ amounts

on the main page I could enter my per job pay after inputting codes

how the heck do you get those 2 pages to talk ie enter code and have $ show beside code on first page. I had a friend build it for me and now am lost :(
any help would be appreciated!

It is always easier to help and test possible solutions if we could work with your actual file so we can see how your data is organized. Perhaps you could upload a copy of your file to a free site such as www.box.com. or www.dropbox.com. Once you do that, mark it for 'Sharing' and you will be given a link to the file that you can post here. Include a detailed explanation of what you would like to do referring to specific cells and worksheets. If the workbook contains confidential information, you could replace it with generic data.

Sheet main has your Codes, Description and Amounts.

From your Invoice sheet, try the formula.

Excel 2010
ABCD
1Main Sheet
2
3CodeDescriptionAmount
4AAWork A200
5BBWork B300
6CCWork C150
7
Main

Excel 2010
ABC
1
2Work CodeDescriptionAmount
3BBWork B$300.00
4
Invoice
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
B3=VLOOKUP(A3,Main!A4:C6,2,0)
C3=VLOOKUP(A3,Main!A4:C6,3,0)
