I have a 97 datbsae that wil not covert to 2002 correctly.
I'm not familar with 2002 at all. Could someone tell me if the code below needs to be modified to work in 2002
this is the criteria in my query
Code:
Between [Forms]![Report Date Range]![Beginning Date] And [Forms]![Report Date Range]![Ending Date]
this is the code on my [Report Date Range] form
Code:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit

Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer)
    Me.Caption = Forms![Report Date Range].OpenArgs
End Sub
Private Sub Preview_Click()
    If IsNull([Beginning Date]) Or IsNull([Ending Date]) Then
        MsgBox "You must enter both beginning and ending dates."
        DoCmd.GoToControl "Beginning Date"
    Else
        If [Beginning Date] > [Ending Date] Then
            MsgBox "Ending date must be greater than Beginning date."
            DoCmd.GoToControl "Beginning Date"
        Else
            Me.Visible = False
        End If
    End If
End Sub
this is the code on my report
Code:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit

Private Sub Report_NoData(Cancel As Integer)
    MsgBox "There is no data for this report. Canceling report..."
    Cancel = -1
End Sub
Private Sub Report_Close()
    DoCmd.Close acForm, "Report Date Range"
End Sub
Private Sub Report_Open(Cancel As Integer)
    DoCmd.OpenForm "Report Date Range", , , , , acDialog, "Recording Receipts Report"
    If Not IsLoaded("Report Date Range") Then
        Cancel = True
    End If
End Sub
This is my module
Code:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit

Function IsLoaded(ByVal strFormName As String) As Integer
 ' Returns True if the specified form is open in Form view or Datasheet view.

    Const conObjStateClosed = 0
    Const conDesignView = 0

    If SysCmd(acSysCmdGetObjectState, acForm, strFormName) <> conObjStateClosed Then
        If Forms(strFormName).CurrentView <> conDesignView Then
            IsLoaded = True
        End If
    End If

End Function
This is my Swithboard code

If anyone could suggest changes that should be made to the aboves codes that would allow them to work in Access 2002 I would appreciate it.

Thank You :-D

Excel Facts

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
I think the problem is a standard one in Access -- when you update 97 to a higher version, much of the code ceases to behave. This is how I fixed it previously:

Open any module in the converted database.
Go to Tools | References. You will see references to ADO and DAO libraries. My bet is that the ADO reference is above the DAO reference, making it the default.
Deselect the ADO reference, then reselect it. What you are hoping to see is a reversal of the relative order -- DAO now higher up the list.

Close, Save if prompted and try it out. If it worked, the reason is that Access 2000 and later use the ADO object model by default -- it's better for remote access and Web stuff, apparently. Access 97 used DAO and it's a completely different object model.

Good luck :wink:

Thank you, that did fix the code problem. Another I found was that when your tables are links to excel spreadsheets, the links are lost in the conversion. I had to remove the link and then recreate it. those two things made it work

Thank you for your help
