Is there a way that you can control which cell becomes the next active cell after the Enter button is pressed?

For instance, I would like it to go from A1 to B1. Next time to C1, and so on across the row until I get to J1. Then, from J1 to A2.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Hi,
check out "options" in menu "tools"
on tab "edit" you will find Move After Return Direction, which you can set to "right"
select A1:D5 and press enter several times
A1,B1,C1,D1-A2,B2,...

kind regards,
Erik

Thanks

Thanks, Erik. Seems like an odd location, to me, for them to put such a setting. I got it moving to the right with no problem, which is the main thing I was looking to accomplish. It only seems to come back to the A column if the return key is hit within the selected range. Can you, also, set the usable range or something that will prevent the cursor from moving past the J column?

I guess, I should be more specific in my follow up question.

I understand that I can lock everything outside of the range where I want the active cell to indexing across and down, then password protect it. I have cells outside of this range that I often access and would really prefer to not have to select the range I want to input data to everytime I use the sheet or have to enter the password everytime I want to use a cell outside of the range. My goal would be to have the active cell move across and index down in the A column after reaching the J column and then still be able to simply select a cell outside the range when desired.
