Hi all, this is probably easy for you guys
Using Excel for Mac
I have a spreadsheet, Columns A through E, many rows
Column E is called due date and has a date in it
Cell H1 is equals now command
If H1 is 1 or 2 days before the due date, I want that row from A to E to be highlighted yellow
If H1 is equal to the due date, I want that row from A to E to be highlighted Red

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Welcome to the lounge.

I assume you mean the dates in column H could be 1 or 2 days in date BEFORE the due date in E, but the date could also be exactly the date in E. Yes?

If that's the case and the MAC version has conditional formatting (I assume it must), select the range to be highlighted, click on Conditional Formatting, and et the "format values where this formula is true:" to
the following: =$E2=$H2 and pick your format fill.

Hi NeilDello,

I assume Apple Excel is close enough to Windows Excel that this works... and I'm assuming you have a single date in cell H1 to trigger the color selection based on the date in any column E row.

There's a couple of ways to do it but I'll use formulae.

Highlight all cells you to change colour.

Conditional Formatting, New Rule, Use a formula to determine which cells to format, Format values where this formula is true:
=AND($H$1-$E2 > -3,$H$1-$E2 < 3)
Under Format set Fill to the yellow you want and OK.

Conditional Formatting, New Rule, Use a formula to determine which cells to format, Format values where this formula is true:
=$H$1=$E2
Under Format set Fill to the red you want and OK.

I mis-read thinking every row in the H column was a date rather than just H1.
