Hello,

In a worksheet, I would like to rank people's scores (in descending order) but only if their associated status is "Move forward". For the other statuses of "Proceed with Caution" and "Do not Proceed", they'd be ranked after and listed at the bottom.

Please help!

Thank you!

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
assuming A2:A10 show status and B2:B10 show scores, this in C2:C10 should rank each status based on score
=SUMPRODUCT(--($A$2:$A$10=A2),--(B2<$B$2:$B$10))+1
