Good Afternoon,

I know I can change the colour etc... of a word or the cell formatt depending on what is shown in the cell.

ie. I know i can change a cell colour to red if it has "Overdue" showing in it.

But is there a way i can make the whole row of the sheet go a different colour instead of just the cell.

ie. if A2 is showing "Overdue" A2:Z2 is all in RED ( the cell colour and the text in white )

Many thanks
Gavin

If you look to the top leftish of the screen you'll see what looks like a little brush. It's next to the undo button. If you select the cell with the formating you want to match, then click this button you can paint the format into a range of cells.

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Thanks All,

Just realised my mistake.

I was using "cell value is" instead of "formula is"

Thanks Again

I'll put my hands up and say that I should have mentioned to use that rather than assuming you were.

You're not working for Utilita are you?

I have it working but if I am putting $ infront of the cell reference is there anyway i can copy it downwards without it always referencing A5 as each line in column A needs to be checked.

Cheers

If you enter it as $A5 with no $ in front of the 5 it'll fix the column but leave the row able to change.
