Conditional Formatting

I would like to know how you can apply conditional formatting to a specific cell but the formatting should apply to the entire Row. Meaning the appearance of the entire row changes depending on the condition set in a cell! If possible in both 2003 and 2007!

Hi, welcome to the board.

Easily do-able in 2003 (I don't know 2007, but I guess you can do it there too).

Here's one way.
Apply format to a single cell.
For example
Conditional Formating
Formula Is

=$a$1=1

and format as required.

A1 could be the cell you are in, or it could be a totally different one.
Then simply copy the format along the row, for example using Copy, Paste Special, Formats.

There are other ways to do this as well.

Thank you very much for your response! It has definitely helped me a lot! I downloaded a free Excel Advanced manual from www.mousetraining.co.uk and although it did have some explanantion of Conditional Formatting but it didn't cover the more advanced things that I can find from your useful website!
