.... So I am trying to apply conditional formatting to a document of mine and I cant seem to figure out how to make this conditional formatting work. I have in column A numbers formatted this way, here is an example: 00087965. When the numbers are not formatted this way I need it to be flagged in red or blue. Any suggestions.....?

Hello and Welcome to the Board!
If formatted numbers are supposed to be of length 8 then try this:
=LEN($A1)<>8

You could use a custom number format to make sure the numbers in column A always show the leading zeros.

Highlight the column (or range this applies to)
Ctrl-1 to open Format Cells box
Number > Category > Custom
Type: 00000000

Hi pablo,

Please paste the exact format for which you want to check. Such as, go to a cell with the desired format and get from the format dialog box (CTRL-1) the exact format. So it might be "00000000"

When this is known, a formula can be created to do what you want via conditional formatting.
