Hi,

If, for example, the value in cell B1 contains the word ''Done'' I want the word in cell A1 to be formatted. How should I do this?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

I think maybe you might like to know all about Conditional Formatting. It's easier to show it than write it. So watch this video on youtube from ExcelIsFun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRfe4bHsjhI

Set the selected cell to A1, then simply go to Home > Conditional Formatting > New Rule > Use a formula to determine which cells to format.

Then set the formula to:

=B1="Done"

Then hit the "format" button and choose how you want to format.

Done.
