Hi,

1656498363825.png

With reference to my sheet, above: I would like to be able to put a number in the 'check' row (c7, d7, e7 etc) and if that number is in column F, then the number in column F is highlighted.

I have used Conditional formatting on column F , but it simply isn't working as I hoped it would.

I tried <format only cells that contain> - <specific text> <containing> 'C7'
then another rule for the same column <containing> 'D7'
and another <containing> 'E7' etc.

But the whole column simply fills with the formatted colour to indicate the found value, and the 'found' value is the opposite of the format, and any empty column cells change red.

I tried other variations of the 'Select a Rule Type', <Use a formula to determine which cells to format> 'Format values where this formula is true:' =C7=F:F and that didn't work either.

Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Regards.

Brewster

Excel Facts

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Select F11 down to the last row & then in conditional formatting, new rule, use a formula & use
VBA Code:
=MATCH(F11,$C$7:$P$7,0)
