Am having a problem with conditional formatting in sheet. I have two columns i wish to compare with one another and automatically fill according to this rule where the values in column J are greater than I. I have used conditional format with the formula =($J$3:$J$90)>($I$3:$I$90) and then fill option. However when i went to check this worked by editing one of the rows with a value that was deliberately higher the cell did not change colour as it should have. Can anyone help? Many thanks

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Welcome to MrExcel.

Use the formula:

=J3>I3

when the active cell is in row 3 and the row reference will adjust relatively for the other rows.
