I have an old version of Excel and on my search I ran across this
comment
from Fluff MrExcel MVP who said:

The OP is using xl 2003, which does not support the formulae option

I fear that applies to me - but here's what I want to do:

24vuo74.jpg

I intend to paste Version 1 of my data down Column A and Version 2 down Column F
I want the formatted data to appear down Column K with the differences between
Versions 1 & 2 Highlighted in Bold Yellow.

I've looked at the the Help screen
Add, change, or remove conditional formats
and I just don't know what to put where.

Some background:

I've got over 100 data sets that are supposed to be identical,
only they are not. I intend to make a little video where the
changes from one to the next blink bright yellow while the
versions scroll on by to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

(Google Chrome is blocking the preview function
I hope the [Submit New Thread] button works)

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
One option
Select F1:I4 > Format > Conditional Formatting > Cell Value Is, Not equal to, =A1 > Format > Create your format style > OK.

Thank you - after a good deal of Flailing around I figured out that you
need to take out the $ Dollar Signs to make it work and it does (-:

I had put this little project on ice (we went on a nice vacation) and
after constructing the first little video I find that the black background
and blinking yellow really looks crappy and I'm opting to change the
background to yellow which I've done and THEN put a black border
around it. That requires me to tell Excel to also place a border around
the cells that don't match.

So, I highlight the range, select Conditional Formatting, click on Add>>,
up comes the condition 2 addition to the dialog box, click on the drop
down menu and select [not equal to] and type in =A1 (this is the same
as in condition 1 above) click on format, select border and then try
various combinations of Presets, Line style, Border, Color etc and then
click on [OK] and NOTHING happens.

What am I missing?

My ten minutes to edit expired (-:

Here's what I really want it to look like

Borders really make it stand out nice.
