I have a check list that has certain terms I'd like emphasized within the list item. The entire list item is contained in one cell. Next to each list item I have an ActiveX control check box that when ticked removes yellow cell fill along with making the text grey with strikethrough. This is done with conditional formatting.

I'd like for this formatting to override the emphasized words as well but I can't seem to get it to work.

To be more clear, in the first image in the post, on the second line that is ticked off as "completed," I'd like the orange words to be unbolded and grey like the rest of the sentence.

I would appreciate any ideas or help!

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
As part of your conditional formatting when the rule is TRUE, update the formatting of the FONT in the cell using the font tab of the format cells window.
For some reason you can only change text effects (which is what you have) and font style.
