Conditional Formatting based on next cell

I’m using Excel 2007. My spreadsheet has every other column blank. When text is entered in a blank cell (L2), I need the previous cell (K2) to have a grey fill. How can I make this work? Thanks for your help. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
