I am using conditional formatting on a pivot table. But when I open a dropdown box the conditional formating does not seemed to get applied to drop down. How do I do that?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Are you trying to apply the Conditional Formatting to the choices presented in the drop-down box?
That is not how Conditional Formatting works. It is applied to the value stored in the cell (or the value returned by a formula in that cell).
A drop-down box presents different options for that cell, but until one is selected, it is NOT the value of that cell. So I don't think you can apply Conditional Formatting to the different options for that cell.

I am using formula
= right($A5,3) = G15

It works on the Colasped rows. But when I expand using the (+), the expanded data does not have the conditional formating.

I was able to get working. I think I was not including the total line when I was setting the format.
When I included it seems to do the dropdowns now.
Thanks for help

Ah, I think I see what you were trying to do now.
Glad you got it figured out.
