is there a way I can put in a list of order numbers that I want highlighted with light red fill with dark red text if it appears in column B as opposed to going to conditional formatting>highlight cell rules>text that contains and typing in the order number for each one?

Yes, you can put the list somewhere. Then you can use a COUNTIF formula in Conditional Formatting to see if an entry is found in your list.

For example, let's say that your list is in Z1:Z100, and you are checking the value in cell B1 to see if it is found in that list.
Then you can use the Conditional Formatting formula:
Code:
=COUNTIF($Z$1:$Z$100,B1)>0
