Compatibilidad entre Español e Inglés

Tengo Excel 2000 en Español, hay alguna forma de que pueda utilizar funciones en Inglés?

Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
No directamente en Excel... pero Visual Basic acepta las funciones en ingles.. por ejemplo:

ActiveCell.Formula = "=SUM(A:A)"

pone en la celda activa la fórmula

=SUMA(A:A)

he intentado seguir el codigo de guile - pero la hoja de excel no me funciona y no me aclaro bien con ello. no se si es por tener otros visual basic en la hoja que esten en conflicto. ¿me podrias pasar una hoja de excel con el ejemplo de este codigo que funcione para convertir numeración del castellano al escrito?
