Today's question sent in by Ray, and this solution works only in Excel 2010.
It was supposed to be there in Excel 2007.
It was there in the beta of Excel 2007.
They didn't make it in final product.
Ray has two worksheets There's a very in a similar fashion weeks going across the top regions going down the side and values here so here's the January worksheet,here's the February worksheet.
He wants to highlight every cell in February to changed from January.
So, here's what we do you want to choose all of those cells in February.
I want to pay attention to the fact that B3 is the active cell, and we're gonna get a Home and then Conditional Formatting.
And then New Rule, and then finally, Use a formula to determine which cells to format now again.
I have to write this, Formula, as if it was referring to, B3 so, we say equal B3 not equal to less than greater than and then the name of Jan Exclamation point B3 and let's choose some sort of a format there. We'll just go with a...
Green fill, no red fill so it's learn.
And click OK click OK and there you go.
So, those cells are the cells that have changed now.
This feature of conditional formatting having a formula that refers to another worksheet, is brand new in Excel 2010, didn't work previous versions of Excel.
