I need to compare values in one column with another, and create a seperate column with the common values. I know this is quite easy, but for the life of me I can't recall the syntax of the countif statement. Many thanks

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
To view the syntax of any function, click on the fx icon on the toolbar and select the function in the dialogue box. A second dialogue box will appear for that specific function, and the syntax is explained at the bottom.
