Hi Everyone!
What I have here are 2 input lists and a sample output list.

Input List AOutputInput List B
aso, cro, appaso, cro, whatsappapp, data, insta
whatsapp, multimedia, whatsapp appwhatsapp, multimedia, peter, samaso, cro, whatsapp
insta, delta, summationapp, data, instaaso, whatsapp
whatsapp, multimedia, peter, sam

My aim here is to take an element from Input list A - and match it with the entire range of Input List B. Whichever cell from list B has the highest match, will be returned against the values of List A. The Output provided is only an example. Any ideas on how to actually get these outputs? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

take an element from Input list A
In your sample what "element" have you taken from Input list A?

BTW, I suggest that you investigate XL2BB for providing sample data & expected results to make it easier for helpers to understand just what you have & where it is and also what you want & where it is to be.

Hi Peter, thank you for your suggestion.

To answer your question, by an "element" from List A, I was referring to an entire row. For example, first element would be the first row, containing "aso, cro, app".

I am unable to paste the data i copied as a mini sheet, hence uplading an image for now for better understanding. Anway my table doesnt contain any formuale as of now.

More questions then:

Is your data as inconsistent as those samples? By that I am referring to the fact that the items in List B re sometimes separated by ", " and sometimes just ","

Do you have the TEXTSPLIT function in your Excel version?

Would a macro solution be acceptable?
