Welcome. I have a list of employee names in column A starting from row number 3, and in column B the corresponding cell contains the same name with a slight difference in, for example, one or two letters, and perhaps a difference in the way it is written only, for example (e) / (é) I would like to have a function or code that enables me to extract the difference between the names (Letters only) and put it in the corresponding cell in column C

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
I am not one of those people that can write fuzzy logic to determine differences at that level. I don't know what you would do with the letters after you found them. So many issues, but specifically if there is added ore subtracted characters, because every character after that is wrong. Is just knowing that they don't match good enough?
