I want to create a combo/list box where I can type the first letters/digits and the list jumps to it. I have seen this on a thread before but just cannot find it, can anyone help?

I am using Excel 2010 in Win 7

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Hhhmmm, thanks Trevor but I am just so unsure of myself with VBA - I dont understand the language at all - "user form", "class module" all a bit beyond me I am afraid. I did not realise it was as compliacted but many thanks for your input.

Ok Simon,

Do a search for autocomplete for the combo box. I assumed the combo was on a userform. I take it you have it on a worksheet as an ActiveX Object or Form Object?

I am now showing my ignorance, so your patience appreciated - what do you mean by userform? Also, where do I search for Autocomplete.

I have created an ActiveX and Form Control version, but when right clicking the ActiveX, I do not get a controls tab to input the range?? Why is that?

The ActiveX control needs you to be in Design mode before you can see the properties of the control.

A Userform is found in the VBA screen within Excel and when you have used the userform control for the Combo Box it is part of the userform controls.

Hi Trevor, I am doing some study on the subject through various sources (Contextures for one) and will get there in the end. Thanks for you help; when I know a little more I will repost if needed as by then, I should at least understand the answers provided. If you know of any useful training please let me know, thanks.
