Combo box not sorting

I have a form with a combo box which is from a table. The table is sorted by the field used in the combo box, but whenever I click on the combo box the data is not sorted. How can I make this sort?

Bring up the Properties dialog for the combobox, find the Rowsource property and click on the ellipsis to bring up a query window (say yes if Access asks you if you want to make a query out of the table). In the query window set the field you require sorting on to Ascending or Descending as appropriate.
