Below is a cell that combines a wingdings symbol with Calibri characters.

Let's say that's in cell A1.

Then in another cell somewhere, I have a formula =A1 ... Which predictably converts it to all Calibri or all wingdings.

Is there a way to have the formula show exactly what's in cell A1 without converting it to either calibri or wingdings?

Or do I need to find a font that accommodates symbols and letters? If so, any suggestions?

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
You would need to use the same font like & use unichar 9670

Didn't take as much studying as I thought. It's pretty simple and opens up many creative possibilities for my project. Thanks again!

Made a discovery ... If use a unichar formula - ie, =unichar(9730) - to get a symbol/image, etc., I can then use ASAP utilities to convert the formula to ''its calculated value,'' the result is a symbol/image that can be used like it's a letter or number in any font.

For example, by converting the ◆ and ② symbols produced by the unichar formula to 'their calculated values,' they become like any other letter or symbol.

◆②Sunshine
