Columns or Rows as Time Period

I have separate sheets that look like this (the first one is number of exams per period and the second is number of hours per period):

What I want to do is build a pivot chart by that will let me search for exams and hours by period. The issue here is that the periods are columns instead of rows so the exams and hours info are rows and not columns.

Would I have to build the spreadsheet like this instead for each individual master id? And if so, is there an easy way to do this?

Thank you!

Dustin

If the MasterID is unique in both of the tables, you can temporarily remove Site and Department column, then use this trick to get the data in a data sheet format:

Spreadsheet Page Excel Tips: Creating A Database Table From A Summary Table

Otherwise, you can combine MasterID Site and Department into a single column (concatenate), use the technique, then split up MasterID Site and Department after.

Note: in Excel 2007 and later, you will need to add the PivotTable Wizard to either your QAT or ribbon from "Commands not in Ribbon" list.
