I Have a column of figures which have a fomula behind them and they are colour formatted, call it Column A The next column, call it column B also has formulas behind them but I want the conditional colour formatting in column A to apply to Column B irrespective of the values in column B. Is this possible?l

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Hi Gizzmo,

welcome to the board. Yes, use conditional formatting and use a formula in the condition. For example, select the range covering columns A and B as required, and do menu command Format/Conditional Formating, and choose Formula Is, with a formula refering to column A using absolute column references, i.e. put a dollar before the "A" in any reference in the formula condition. E.g.
Code:
=$A2="Fred"
if the first cell of the selected range starts is cell A2.
