Hello,

I wonder if anybody can help me with an Excel chart challenge please. I have a sheet that plots and autoscales a graph such as the below based on user inputs.

Please can anybody tell me if there is a way to colour the areas between the lines and axes automatically? The effect I am trying to achieve is the area between the axes and the green line is coloured green, the area between the green and amber lines is coloured light orange, the area between the amber and red lines is dark orange and the area above the red line is coloured red. I can achieve this for a static plot in a low tech way (:-)) but not for a dynamic plot.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you,
Iain

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
You will need three sets of data, and it will also need to have inbetween points to simulate a Spline, otherwise it will look jagged.
Select your first set of data, go to Insert> Line or Area Chart> and select the second one in 2D.
From there add in series.
Here is a video showing how to do it.
