Dear all,
I have design a duty roster in excel. For the weekends I have used conditional formatting to mark the weekends in red. Now on the duty roster I want to mark those who are on leave in yellow. I can do that for the working days but not for the weekends because of the conditional formatting. I know that you have more than one rule for conditional formatting u can decide on the order of preference. But here it doesn’t work since the marking in yellow is done manually and not automatically.
How can I overcome this?

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Conditional Formatting overrides manually formatting. So you would either need to remove the Conditional Formatting from that cell, or make the yellow highlighting work off of Conditional Formatting also (maybe enter a leave of absence date range somewhere, and have the Conditional Formatting look at that).
