I have a variable length field in a table that needs to have its 1st and last character stripped prior to being put into a new table. Within a query I presently am using Mid([field],2) to remove the initial character. Can I at the same time remove the last character?

As always thanks for your help.. You guys are awesome.. I am glad no one calls me on the drinks I owe for the answers or I'd be broke..
