Hy,

I wanted to know why the access DB dosent lower in size when i delete a table...

When i started my DB, i had one table with a size of the access file 500 mb,

I added another table that made the access file 700 mb,

When i delete the second table the size stayed the same...

Can anyone tell me how to clean correctly DB to reduce diskspace usage?

Thx (y)

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
Under the tools menu
Database Utilities
Compact and Repair Database

This may not be the perfect explanation, but Access builds a lot of indexes while it's working with the data that does not get deleted unless you compact the database. Think of it as - Access only wants to expend the processing time to do it once.

What version of Access do you have?

In later versions there is an option to Compact on close.

It's under Tools>Options and the General tab.

I think this makes more sense than Compacting on close.
