anyone done any clean sheet modelling or should cost modelling that they would be prepared to share. we are just embarking on this process at work and i was hoping to see a working model or two in action.

what is clean sheet or should cost modelling? I don't know what they are, and other forum users may not either. But, if you can give an explanation of how theses kinds of modelling work the forum may be able to apply their skills to your model. Posting some examples of data and expectations would help. The xl2bb add in is a tool to post mini workbooks, please use it. the link is below.

thanks mate. they are both particular types of cost estimating models that can be used to determine what the price of a particular item should be. The method concentrates on segmenting the components of a product and looking at what drives the particular costs involved in making those components. Its a procurement thing.

@ajm , Although there may be people here in the forum that are familiar with that, they may not log on that frequently and give you a timely reply.
What do the people who have asked you to start using either of these modeling methods have to show you? Don't they have examples?
Have you asked for help from procurement modeling forums elsewhere? (Be sure to follow the cross posting to different forum rules here, though.)

I know nothing about the models you ask about. But, if you have the math some of the forum members can certainly try to come up with a template for you.

thanks mate. we have consultants coming in to show us all how to go about it as a broad overview. I just know that at somepoint, i will need to get my hands dirty in the modeling. so thought i would ask here.

You're welcome. I'm happy to learn to. So, when you have a model that needs to be flushed out and nailed down please post the details here.

Best wishes.
