Hello Everybody,

I'd like to clean the duplicates from a column and to keep only 1 entry, but I'd like to keep the 1st record and all other data from the other rows.
How Can I do that?
I'm using Office 365.

Thanks,
Gabor

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Hi @Gabriell ,

If you enter
Excel Formula:
=IF(C7<>C6,C7,"")
in cell H7, then fill down from H7 to H14 I think you'll achieve what you want

Hi @RedNectar ,

Thank you for your reply. While the provided solution works for sorted data, is there a way to clean duplicates from unsorted columns as well?

PS. Your reply helped me to solve my issue. so thanks! :)

Show example of unsorted data and how you would like the result to look. Please use XL2BB so we don't have to retype your data to get a workable solution.

Hi @alansidman,

I couldn't install the XL2BB, but I paste the date here, I hope you can use it easier.
The request is to find the first match in the "Code" column for each "Name" and remove any duplicate entries. For instance, Robert should only have one instance of the code "AAA," Anna should have one instance of the code "BBB," and Alex should have one instance of the code "CCC."
