Hi

Step 7 on this page is unclear:
"Go back to Excel and close the test dataset."

do you mean close the workbook?

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
My guess is Yes.

Give it a try, the worst that can happen is that it won't work.

i did try it. the worst happened.

I believe that I meant to close the workbook.

This only worked in Excel 2003, and even then, it only worked in the "Pro" version of 2003. There was some crazy scheme back then that certain features were turned off in the Home & Student edition and some of the other boxed editions. I remember buying a stand-alone Excel 2003 because that would guarantee having all of the features. Enterprise definitely qualified. I am not sure about Office Standard and Office Pro.

Drop me a note pub at MrExcel.com and I will see if I can help.

Bill
