Circular reference not in status bar or error checking

Hi all,
I have perused the various threads on difficulty finding difficult-to-locate circular references, but it appears that everyone eventually finds the problem either in the Error Checking--> Circular References dropdown option, or in the status bar (near "Ready"). I have this error pop up every time I run a particular macro, but the Circular references dropdown is grayed out (including when I pull it into my quick access toolbar), and it doesn't show up at all (not even with an unspecified location) in the status bar.

Is it possible that my macro is somehow causing it and getting rid of it such that it is activated but doesn't remain long enoguh to show up? Or is it more likely that I simply need to turn something on to see the location of the problem?

Thanks for your help,
Pinar

Welcome to the MrExcel forum.

1. What version of Excel, and, Windows are you using?

2. Are you using a PC or a Mac?

3. Can we see all of your macro code?

When posting VBA code, please use Code Tags - like this:

[code=rich]

Paste your code here.

Hi, and thank you to both responders! I'm in PC Excel 2007. I think it won't be that helpful to show the macro, because it is pasting formulas that you won't be able to identify without the worksheet contents along with it. However, your comments that it could be something occurring within the macro is helpful by itself -- I can stop wondering about individual cell content and comb through the macro in detail.

Thanks very much!

Pinar

pbilir,

Hi, and thank you to both responders!

You are very welcome.

I think it won't be that helpful to show the macro, because it is pasting formulas that you won't be able to identify without the worksheet contents along with it.

In order to continue, can we see your actual workbook/worksheet(s) with the macro(s)?

You can upload your workbook to (the BLUE link-->) Box Net ,
sensitive data changed
mark the workbook for sharing
and provide us with a link to your workbook.

If you are not able to provide the above, then:

Click on the Reply to Thread button, and just put the word BUMP in the thread. Then, click on the Post Quick Reply button, and someone else will assist you.
