Wife made a Christmas Pudding this year and asked if she could use some of my Port to feed it between when she made it and Christmas Day. Sure I said, thinking she meant a couple of teaspoon fulls.

Get to Christmas Day and I check out my bottle of vintage Port - there was about half a glass left from being nearly full!!! :eeek::eeek::eeek:

I made darn sure I got my money's worth by eating half the (very boozy) pudding. It was delicious.

So I take it you didn't save me any? I bet your wife cooked up a feast of a christmas meal. I still dream about those roast potato's! :hungry:

The best ingredients usually get the best result...

Good excuse to get another bottle of Port. Just keep it out of reach of marauding cooks ;-)
I got to make the brandy butter this year. Stopped adding brandy when the butter couldn't hold any more. Yum!
